A Special Thank You to Kelso Elementary Community Student Leaders

Last Friday, students, and staff of Kelso Elementary, along with parents and Junior Achievement staff, gathered to celebrate this year's student leaders. These students were chosen because they come to school, turn in their work, and continue to be positive peer influences among their classmates.

With the help of Houston ISD’s Aiesha Odutayo, JA was able to secure donations and provide these student leaders with a holiday to remember. After JA presented a brief lesson about financial literacy, it was time to open gifts! From footballs to a Barbie Dreamhouse, the students were able to receive everything on their wish lists!

Happy tears filled the room as students opened their gifts with much surprise, along with much gratitude. As we enter the 2022 holiday season, let us remember that “Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.”- Booker T. Washington.
